INFORMATION ABOUT NATURAL FEATURES OF WOOD WHICH ARE NOT SUBJECT TO COMPLAINTS
1. Cracks, twisting and distortion.
Cracks that arise during drying out are the natural features of wood and do not affect its durability. Due to the construction of wood, twisting and distortion of elements may occur during the drying process (broad elements with thinner cross sections show a greater tendency to twist and distort).
2. Knots and tree rings:
Knots and tree rings are a part of natural wood construction. Depending on the kind and age of the wood, they appear in various forms.
3. Rough surfaces:
All products are planed. Inaccuracies and roughness can occur at the fiber twist around the knots where the junction system is variable.
4. Green spots:
Green spots are a natural phenomenon caused by the reaction of the impregnation with the resin found in the wood.
5. Stains and cyanobacteria:
They may occur during improper storage of products, which moisture exceeds 18%.
Discoloration appears due to sunlight. Particular kind of discoloration occurs after the impregnation process, because direct sunlight affects the wood. The second factor causing the discoloration is the structure of wood. In coniferous species, the
impregnation color is different in sapwood and heartwood.
